About Me

I was born in Philadelphia, PA and spent my earliest years growing up in southern New Jersey. My family moved to Charlotte, NC when I was 7 years old and I lived there until I went to college at N.C. State in Raleigh, NC. There I received B.S. degrees in Physics and Applied Math and did undergraduate research with Stephen Reynolds. From there I moved on to UC Berkeley, where I received my PhD with Eliot Quataert as my advisor. After a 3 year fellowship at KITP I am now a postdoctoral fellow at CITA.

Most of what I do for fun revolves around either exercise or food. I go for long walks, enjoy cooking (particularly things that I haven't tried before), and am a wannabe cheese consultant. I also like crossword puzzles, word games, and reading. I think the best way to approach life is with a strong sense of humor so I always try to make an effort to be entertaining in unexpected ways.
